Dameer: Queer Muslim Dreambuilding

By: Shariq Farooqi

Dameer: Queer Muslim Dreambuilding” is a multidisciplinary project centered on a community based participatory research approach. The project interrogates the rituals and relationships of Queer Muslims who are not served by nuclear family structures and traditional Muslim institutions. The project unravels via community storytelling, with 4 focus group sessions followed up with surveys and 1 in-depth interview. InshAllah the hope is for Dameer to transform into a living, breathing transnational space where queer Muslims can connect with one another in their local communities.

Join Shariq for a deep dive into their project on Thursday, April 2nd at 3pm PST/6pm EST on zoom. Register below!
